Yes.

But...HP may have licensed HP-UX only to run on HP 9000s ... which doesn't
include the 918.  HP may still sell you an expensive conversion kit, but
it probably isn't worth it (you can get a new A-Class HP 9000 *CHEAP*).

IIRC, the PA-RISC linux porting project doesn't support the 9x8 (or the
9000 Ex5) machines, although a couple of people are working on it (search
for posts by Christoph Plattner, who has some form it it running on his
9000/E55 (same platform as 918, although with a faster clock).

Resale value for a 3000/918 on eBay is about $100 to $400,
depending upon luck :)
