One thing I learnt about ups that I never knew before it happened was many years back i had the same problem after arriving on a Monday to discover everything waiting for a start yet no power outage and a brand new (2 month old ups).
After 3 weeks of the same problem I plugged in an electronic clock to prove to the utility company the power was failing, following Monday system is down yet clock still running- I thought UPS changed it for the same problem to occur some 2 weeks later. Ok apologies if your bored but maybe you don't know, as I didn't that these devices have both a high and low watermark. Basically over the weekend the factory shutdown due to lack of orders and hence the power would jump over the high mark. The ups would kick in to protect the 3000's and wait until the power returned inside tolerances. This never occurred and so the battery would die, the system shutdown, then Monday I would restart confused.
Possibly not the problem here but either way had us stumped for weeks, maybe you have learnt something new, maybe not but at least for you chaps at the other side of the pond that have been voting it's a distraction.
Either way glad there is something different in the news now 😀
Cheers
