Ewan,

Have the client log you onto the system as MANAGER.SYS and do the
following:

:LISTF LOG####,2

The last file will have an "*" preceding it showing it is the current
log.

Then type :SHOWME
If the MPE revision is 6.5 or higher type LOGTOOL; if not type SYSDIAG
and at the DUI prompt, type LOGTOOL...

Once in LOGTOOL, type
LIST LOG=n-1/n;TYPE=111;OUTFILE=chkerrs.diag (or any name you'd like)
Where n=current log...

You can then go into EDITOR and text the file in via T CHKERRS.DIAG,UNN
and examine the file.

For memory errors, if the O/S is less than 6.5, you can type MEMRPT at
the LOGTOOL prompt to see any posted errors.

For 6.5 or greater, type CSTM, then MAP, then SELECT ALL, then INFO,
then IL and roll through the list. The output should be familiar as
it's the same as what you'd see on an HPUX box.

Hope this helps...
Jack Connor

Subject: [HP3000-L] MPE Error logs

Hi guys, I'm an HPUX engineer and I have very little hp3000 server
experience.

We have a customer with a problem and he would like me to check his logs
on his 928LX server. Does MPE have the equivilent of HPUX logs, such as:

/var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
/var/adm/tomstone/TS99
GSP logs
MSTM - so I can excercise the CPU & MEM

Basically, I need to run all the tests on his MPE system that I would
run when checking a PA-RISC HP9000 system, can anyone help me?
