Two items, the first of which my thanks go to Lars Appel for:

1) I'm running M/S Windows NT 4.00.1382, and it doesn't like > 12 characters for the user and account name on the hp.

2) Your username must map to a group with the same name on the hp, otherwise you'll receive 
"An unexpected network error occurred".
