I just wanted to say how much I have appreciated the contributions and help
available to this list. It really seems to have the right amount of off
topic conversations and on topic - plus plenty of people who know their
stuff and are willing to share that knowledge.

There have been a few questions where I felt I could help - but as I have
discovered there is enough change in the PA machines to make my knowledge
questionable.

BTW my sending of the "Adam and Eve" joke was not intended to the HP list -
blame my inattention to the address book - but I am glad some of you enjoyed
it.

Our little 917 has 2 2GB discs - I had heard how much disc space MPE/ix
wants - and we have over 11 million free sectors using DISCFREE - so I guess
I have enough free space ;-) Better to have too much than not enough!

We're working on connecting our old 2566A printer via the HPIB
board...apparently there is a conflict somewhere but our 7978 tape drive
works - the vendor is working on the problem...

In using sysgen I discover a few similarities to the old Classic - but most
new. Wouldn't you all say that MPE/ix has about 10 times the capabilities as
the old MPE?

I am going to get a CD-ROM drive of the commands - I'm sure they addressed
in FCOPY the ability to copy groups of files (wild cards) that Eugene V. had
addressed (I believe) and MOVEFILE in the telesup account.

Anyway thanks for all your help - and it is an adventure learning all the
capabilities in this little tiny mainframe...

Bill
