I'm trying to do a :RESTORE on a dump tape (as it says I can do in my
MPE manual). The tape was created with SYSDUMP, and therefore has no
label. Currently, I'm trying to do this:
:FILE T;DEV=7 # LDEV 7 is tape drive
:RESTORE *T;@[log in to unmask]@;CREATE;KEEP
The RESTORE starts, however terminates because RESTORE cannot find a
volume label. Is there any way to restore this dump tape without doing a
RELOAD/SPREAD?
I'm running MPE V Delta 7 (G.A3.07) on a donated Series 42.
PS. For donated systems such as mine, who would I have to contact at HP
in order to get a 'salesman' that could work with me, in order to get
MPE/V Release 40, NetIPC, or anything else I should want/need if I find I
can use my HP? If I understand correctly, the person you buy your
machine from is your salesman, but, for someone such as me... I wouldn't
have this person. Can I just talk to any MPE salesperson through HP Direct?
Thanks!
