Hello,
I just started using MPE on an HP 3000 927LX, and
I was wondering if someone could help me out. I need to get at some data,
specific records, throughout my database. The thing is that I am very familiar
with SQL since I use UNIX based relational databases.
I have been using QUERY to access the data, but I would feel better if I could
use SQL.
My situation is this, I went through the procedures in the HP manual that tell
me how to create the DBE environment using START DBE 'MYDBASEDBE' NEW command.
Everything works fine except when I come to the last command, ATTACH. When it
is attaching, I get an error, "LOG FULL".
When it says that, I am assuming it is the LOG FILE that is created when the
DBE environment is created. The manual says the default is 1000 pages. I
created it with 2000 pages, but it still gives me the error.
My question is how big do I have to make this file? I know it probably depends
on the size of the database, but is there a ratio say tables to pages...
The attach command is mapping 865 source tables which is quite a bit...
Do these pages take alot disk space?
One last question, how do I increase the size of the DBE FILE and the LOG FILE
without having to go through the process of creating a new environment?
Thanks a bunch in advance...
I really appreciate it...
Mike
