semi-plug: VEsoft's STREAMX product inserts the user ID who streamed the file AND the name of the file that was submitted as part of the preamble to the job [the stuff everyone ignores...] Recent versions of MPE/iX added most of the same features, but I don't think they added the filename part (...checking...)
As an example, here is a basic job:
2 :JOB CORE9993,MGR.CORETEST,PUB.
3 Priority = DS; HIPRI; Time = UNLIMITED seconds.
4 Job number = #j533.
5 TUE, APR 13, 2004, 4:54 PM.
6 HP3000 Release: C.65.00 User Version: C.65.00
7 MPE/iX HP31900 C.25.06 Copyright Hewlett-Packard 1987.
8 All rights reserved.
9 STREAMED BY CORSCHED,SLEEPER.COREDEV (#J407) ON LDEV# 10
10 STREAM DATE: TUE, APR 13, 2004, 4:53 PM
[the text of the welcome message comes next] Note that this shows who and when, but not what
Jobs submitted via streamx show this:
2 :JOB TELL,MGR.COREDEV,TEMPTE.
3 Priority = DS; HIPRI; Time = UNLIMITED seconds.
4 Job number = #j535.

In this particular case, I had issued an MPEX command preceeded with a dollar-sign ($), which essentially turns it into a one-line job command [submits the command as a jobstream] since it internally calls STREAMX, you see the additional COMMENT lines in the job. Also note that "ZZSTREAM.CMD22.VESOFT" is a very temporary file -- it contained the "one line" that I submitted [and about 40 lines of stuff to tell me when the job completed and/or if there were errors]
I suspect that certain job-schedulers will track this information as well [jobrescue, maestro, etc.]
