It would seem that linefeed characters are getting into the data records. HP
flat files that are fixed ASCII should not have the CR/LF sequence within
the data. With FTP running on HP this might be checked and flagged. Have you
tried pulling the data with a FTP program running on another machine, i.e.
PC or the HP9000? The other thought is even though the files externally are
fixed ASCII they may not be written as such, and the program writing out to
these files is inserting a LF character.
