imagesql user configuration should be as follows:

update user mgr@stock2k to mode=1 (I'm assuming this is the creator and
dba)

add user dstock@stock2k with pass=password (image password for class 15),
mode=1

Adding a user without the pass could be the problem.

http://docs.hp.com/en/36385-90012/ch04s01.html  <<imagesql admin manual

Can you provide the error you are getting when connecting with dstock?

try the following if using odbclink/se
1) logon ot dstock.stock2k
2) odbcutse.odbcse.sys 'dstock'

When updating the Creator information , mgr.stock2k do not update the
class. this may cause issues later on.

When adding a user, use the password, not the class. Class does not pass
the password access to sql.

There is a note in the knowledge database (ITRC) JAVA/iX: How to run the
Samples provided with JDBC/iX. Let me know if you can view this
document.this provide same java code for image/sql jdbc connection.

The jdbc driver on the hp3000 is not jdbc 2.0 compliant.

Hope this helps.
