Bob (or Angie as the case may be):

We just upgraded (on January 26, 1997) directly from MPE/iX 4.0 to
MPE/iX 5.5. We've had absolutely no problems whatsoever. We run
some really old versions of canned software (circa 1990?) including
QUIZ version 5 plus some stuff we wrote ourselves. Everything works.

Feel free to contact me directly if you want more info.
