It was very strange that the announcement was not made at HP World, especially
since the conference is called *HP* World. It is quite ignorant of Carly to
send a
video instead of putting a few miles on the new plane of hers and making
the short
hop over to Philly.

Carly has made it clear that one of the main goals is to enrich the value
of stock for the shareholders, that may be the reason for
the announcement being made in New York. Having Carly personally
visit HP World, even briefly would have in my mind been a real boost
to the conference and the overall support for HP, no matter what platform
you believe in, work on, or evangelize. I guess that Carly doesn't include
herself as being part of the "Total Customer Experience". :^)

It was amazing to note that the Superdome announcement hardly created
a ripple in the press. I suggested to some of my friends, jokingly, that
perhaps HP should hire Coach Knight to do press announcements.

(To our non-North American friends Coach Knight is a flamboyant
basketball coach who was fired from his job for his poor behaviour.)

Oh well back to programming.
