<soapbox>

I have sat quietly on the sidelines, watching the conversation pertaining
to Interex going on... thinking about the pros and cons...and then I see
this piece coming from Interex...

That's it - I have to say something here. I have heard people tell me
about the "politics" within Interex, the "politics" of the board - I've
always shovelled it into the back of my mind - never said a thing about it
- as long as I received my $115.00 worth every year (and was thinking of
going to the $595 level, by the way - close enough to cut a PO on this)...
 Then I see this...

This is political - pure and simple. I'm not making a statement on the
topic of finances, or Chad's platform - but on the nature of this message.
Words cannot express my anger, frustration and utter disgust over this
message. If I did try to express them - this family-oriented list would
need to cover it's eyes, there would be so many four-letter words!

How dare anyone at Interex, or any other organization which SERVES
consitituents (we do pay dues every year - equate them to taxes if you
will) for a level of service come out with messages like this?!?. Adager
purchases quite a bit of expensive ad space in Interact (as well as other
publications) to SUPPORT interex, in addition to the membership dues they
pay, as well as what they pay for booth space at HPWorld, and all of the
other things that Alfredo and Adager do, and to receive this treatment?

Forget CSI Business Solutions upgrading to the $595 level - it's not
happening now. I've seen too much over the last couple of months, and
this takes the cake. I am absolutely disgusted that something like this
can come out. I think I need to rethink renewing too. I'm a SIG leader -
and I'd give that up - because I will not associate my company, myself and
my reputation on an organization which treats its MEMBERS like this.

I support Alfredo's, Chad's or anyone else's RIGHT to say what they wish
(as long as it's not libelous and as long as it's factual) on a public
list. I will not permit HP, Interex or any other organization or
publication to censor me - and I would not knowingly go along with these
organizations censoring anyone else. Forget the issue - this is
censorship - I, for one, won't tolerate it!

Jean - if you see this, I'd come out with an retraction, apology, and I'd
grovel, a lot. Having worked with you in the past, I would never think
something like would come from you. Alfredo (and others) have stirred the
pot on many issues over the years - that's their right. If it has to do
with Interex - we pay our dues, and it exists to serve the membership (not
a select few).
