Hi. I am trying to connect a HP3000 to a HPUX Console Server. I am not
familiar with HPUX Console Server and the Unix admins are not familiar with
the HP3000, so we are not certain if this can be done. I have a 939KS/030
running MPE 6.5 PP1. At the end of the console cable, I have attached a
DB25F>RJ45 RS232 connector. I have also tried adding a null modem between
the cable and connector, in case 2 and 3 are crossed. In either case, I get
nothing at the console. We are not sure if the problem is in the wiring
between the hub and the HP3000, or the Console Server. I believe the wiring
should be straight through on pins 2, 3, and 7. Supposedly, the Console
Server is emulating a HP 700/96 terminal. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I would've posted this at ITRC if the site were working properly. So, I am
hoping some of you HP engineers familiar with HP3000/9000 can answer this.
