On our HP-3000, we perform our backup unattended early in the morning. We
do a :STORE, :ONLINE 7, then :VSTORE the DDS.
The :ONLINE command is a UDC with the following:
parm ldev=0
run hpdevctl.pub.sys;parm=!ldev
I'm not sure where to get the hpdevctl program, but surely someone else
does! I got it from HP a couple of years ago.
Hope this helps.

Why worry when you can blame someone else?
