I like the color ones from HP. Haven't used their new ones R40... But have
used their 1170 and it was great. Copied one of my children's work of art
(crayon) and you had to scratch the picture to tell which one was real (you
know the wax). But if you are looking for something fast then look for the
laser options.

Subject: Printer/Fax/Scanner/Copier Recommendations

I am considering purchasing one of those multi-function printers and would
like
to know if anyone out there has any preferences. I want to be able to copy
pages from a book so I am assuming I would need a "flatbed" model?

Do these things really work or am I better off buying individual devices?
Does
the thing need to be hooked up to an operating PC in order to fax or scan?
Any major "gotchas" to look out for?

Any feedback would be much apreciated.

Regards,
Charlie Fontaine
