Well, the solution is simple.
Login as MANAGER.SYS and type :SYSGEN
sysgen> misc
misc>show
and you'll see something like:
LOGON PROMPT           logonprompt           MPE/iX:
type: misc> sy logonprompt="This is a very long line for testing &
> the logon prompt of mpe/ix. Can be up to 255 chars:"
misc>hold
misc>exit
sysgen>keep
yes
sysgen>exit
=SHUTDOWN
