To all, if you are interested
We (My son Samuel (17) and friend from church, Dave) started hiking at 1:30am, found my friend from Boise (ex-HP) Guy Paul (fellow lister).
Hit the Hogsback at 7:30am. Got news that the Bergshrund (Ice bridge was getting thin). Dave was done and was not going to attempt thesummit. Sam, Guy and I started towards the Bergshrund, I was in the lead. I went over, Guy followed. Sam didn't feel right and went back.
This year we went through the Pearly Gates (the old Climbers shoot was closed). Got stuck in a traffic jam of about 12 people.
You know, "Hang on to that side of the mountain while I go through". Hit he summit at 8:10 it was gorgeous.
On the way down, I punched a whole in the Bergshrund, hence I was the last person across this year. The Bergshrund is an ice bridge,
When I punched the hole, it was more at eye level, like looking into a window. It was beautifully lit cave, the sun was shining through the ice and snow.
Finally made it back to the Hogback at 9:30 and said goodbye to Guy. And started the lonely decent on my own. Was in the car by 12, it was a good day.
Hopefully you can see the attachment.
