It's not a particularly depressing view. It's very realistic to assume that
politicos of all flavors do not have any form of public service and/or
public interest in mind. All they do is basically sell themselves of their
platforms as the current talk-of-the-day, and them sell the same overcooked
merchandise over and over at each election. To me, electoral platforms are
the equivalent of microwaved leftovers, with no taste, and re-hashed over
and over every 2/4/5/6 (underline your local legislative body's term length)
years.

IMHO, believing in politicos' sincerity is like, say, believing in Santa
(called Father christmas, here, btw).

In other words, I view Yosef's statement not as depressing, but as
realistic.
