I assume the Interex charter gives the BOD the responsibility and the
authority to manage the organization's assets.  Where I think the board
stepped over the line is in making the public announcement.  The
announcement implies that the board is speaking for the Interex membership,
which is not the case.  Still, I believe Stan's suggestion has merit, given
the controversial nature of the merger.  At the very least, the board should
announce that its decision in no way reflects the opinions of its members,
and that Interex is not endorsing the merger.
