  I've had the same problem using vi under the shell on my 5.0 machine.  The
vi tutorial (manual and text file) both mention using the arrow keys, but they
don't work on my system.  I've tried 700/92 emulation over VT and DTC
connections, 2392 emulation over both, and a 2392 terminal over a DTC
connection.  None worked.  Perhaps the sShell and Utilities manual never got
corrected for the 3000 version of vi?  Another curious thing, the arrow keys
do work when navigating through a text file with more over all the previously
mentioned terminals and connections.
 
  I'd be curious to see if this can be corrected.
