While part of Ms. Entwhistle's posting may have been incorrect, the first
line  was correct. Women generally present with a pain in the back not down
the arm. Many men do also but for whatever reason women do more often. Many
medical personnel are not trained to immediately accept this pain as sign of
a heart attack.

The point is if you are in excruciating pain anywhere in the vicinity of
your chest seek attention immediately and don't let anyone including
hospital personnel talk you out of it.
