Lynn,

I appreciate your perspective, but the amusing memory that went through my
head reading "the Christian heritage upon which America was founded" was a
quote from a London cabby.

My best friend and I began a six week jaunt of GB and Europe there, and when
asked if there were areas we should avoid during our stay, he responded:

"You're not in America.  We don't have crime like you do.  We sent our
criminals to Austrailia and our prudes to America.  The only people who are
left want to have fun and be nice to each other."

Admittedly said tongue in cheek, but the idea isn't too far from true.  So
the "Christian heritage" of which you write is the behavior of the heartiest
of the prudes England turned out.  Perspective, perspective, perspective.
