I am not sure, but it can be that the new form tries to use th MPE
filesystem and file formats for the tarfile.

Your receiver could try to use POSIX to extract the tar.

Tar is a POSIX tool, so it is better to run it in a POSIX environment.

If the receiver uses MPE/iX you could use store on the MPE prompt or tar
from the POSIX shell.
