Dear Encompass Community,
I'm sure you've been made aware of the news that our fellow HP user group
Interex has closed their doors and canceled their HP World 2005 event. We
express our deep regret to the members and community of Interex during
this difficult time. As a former partner and colleague of Encompass in
serving HP technology users, Interex has shared similar goals, passions
and dedication to the HP user base.
There are many things being written and I'm sure there will be even more
articles published this week. I want you as an Encompass community member
to know that this is no indication of the downturn in the value of
Encompass or user groups in general. Our partnership with HP is stronger
than ever, and we are thrilled to be partnering with HP and OpenView Forum
International on the upcoming HP Technology Forum 2005, to be held
September 12-15 in New Orleans (http://www.hptechnologyforum.com).
As you know, the Encompass community base has been growing steadily, and
our reserves have been increasing each year. We plan to continue in our
efforts to serve HP users as we have for the past 44 years, and believe
that the thirst for education, networking and advocacy among HP
technologists will continue to thrive. Being a part of a user group,
whatever flavor, is one of the best ways to achieve these goals.
Together with HP and OpenView Forum International, Encompass has offered a
complimentary registration to all paid attendees of HP World 2005, and
have made special arrangements for their exhibitors. We hope you will
welcome our HP user friends and colleagues from Interex at this event and
share with them the same type of networking and community activities that
you enjoy with your fellow Encompass community members. I believe we all
share the same goal of helping each other succeed.
