Hi all,
I asked for some volunteers a few days ago to test some POSIX install
changes that I am targetting for 6.0. Since it is late in our internal
release cycle I need to get about 10-15 sites to test these changes, and
I don't have nearly enough people.
********************
IF I DON'T GET SUFFICIENT TEST EXPOSURE THESE CHANGES WILL *NOT* BE
ACCEPTED INTO RELEASE 6.0.
********************
Here is a brief summary of what I have tried to improve related to
making POSIX install more smoothly:
- several enhancements to /etc/profile
- defined some new symbolic links
- modified file permissions so that 'other' can read/execute files
- changed the SH udc to use the CWD when invoking the shell
- create /dev/null, dev/tty, /dev/tape
I have the files on jazz but I want to line up the team and reveal the URL
to them.
Thanks in advance,
Jeff Vance, CSY
ps. I will be out of the office Thurs and Friday and will try to catch
up on email Sunday night.
