We use NBSPOOL rather than SPOOLMATE for LAN/Network printing, but the
concept is the same. Our configurations depend on NBSPOOL for LAN printing
but we have configured some spooled LAN printing using NPCONFIG/SYSGEN.
1 Any spooled LAN printer can be treated like any other Spooled
printer by any utility (SPOOLMATE, NBSPOOL, UNISPOOL).
2 However, I see no reason that SPOOLMATE can't move files to a
Network defined printer, i.e., IP Address in NSDIR or DNS, while the same
printer is also defined as a SPOOLED printer defined in SYSGEN/NPCONFIG.
3 Since we must use a utility (NBSPOOL) for LPD printing to a XEROX
and other network printing where we don't have a Jetdirect and HP printer,
we pretty much stick with NBSPOOL (NAME/IP address in NSDIR) rather than
SPOOLED (serial, HPIB or NPCONFIG) printers just to be consistent.
Otherwise it could get confusing for the Operators.

Ooh! Ooh! I need to know these answers also. Please post to
the list!
