I don't know "from where," but I know right about "what time."

It happened that the place I was working at the time was a pioneer
in discovering the problem (supposed becoming the country's #1 hot site),
with system uptime measured in hours (or fractions thereof).

So, despite the 1984 Anaheim HP IUG conference being held
quite literally next door to where I was working, I could
not attend.  Sure ticked me off!  But I'm not bitter... ;)
