As Jeff said the CI variable limit has already been increased (as of
5.0) to 511 characters. I would like to know if there are significant
issues with 511 characters. It is obviously possible that there could
be (especially considering the fact the HFS filenames can be up to
1024 characters in length), but we need information as to how the CI
command length is effecting customers in the real world.
