John - you hit the nail on the head. I have a friend - a very talented
systems programmer,who for a few years worked under contract for HP's HP-UX
help line.

You wouldn't believe some of the calls he'd get.

We in the HP 3000 community have become a bit spoiled with expectation; we
have a system that simply runs fine without all the stuff others have come
to expect.

The only time I ever reboot is when the spool file numbers get too high.
