According to the copy of a copy of the LLIO (Low Level I/O, aka Subsys 113)
error numbers I inherited somewhere along the way, a -44 error is called
llio_hw_problem and means "This mgr's device had H/W err for which no other
stat avail". As is the case with most unanticipated LLIO errors, the

The Dilbert-a-day calendar (or whatever it's called ;) for Thursday finds
Dilbert pondering how to enliven his engineering newsletter. He decides it
needs "human drama."

The next frame has him reading aloud the title of his new article:
        "How To Cope With The Loss of Loved Data..."

Sounds more like a paper from Alfredo... ;)
