I have a colleague who is in need of some no longer needed manuals. He
has been thrown into a system manager position and his organization will
not be sending him to system manager class of any kind due to budgetary
restrictions. Therefore, he will need to learn through manuals and any
help that list members or the RC can give him. He is running 5.0 on a
927LX.

He has a *few* manuals, but many of the manuals he should have may have
been discarded by his predecessor as they cannot be located. He was,
however, able to find the Customer Education Student Kit for the System
Management Class (but not the 2-volume System Operation Student Kit).
Unfortunately, not all of it makes sense because he cannot refer to
manuals to get more details.

Until a week or so ago, he did not know this list existed. However, he
is now lurking and would like to know if anyone can help him out. So I
agreed to post the questions to the list and he'll look for the answers
and I'll let him respond to those privately who are willing to help him.

If anyone, perhaps someone who is migrating :( to another platform,
would be willing to help out, please post to the list. Does anyone out
there have any of the manuals below that they no longer need? The price
to buy replacements from HP is prohibitive to his organization, but he
could probably pay shipping and a small price if someone is willing to
part with them. I've included the part numbers in parentheses. He needs
the *books* so he can dig in, not LaserROM. :)

Here's the list of what he's looking for (any version would be
appreciated at this point):

Guide for the New System Operator (32650-60040)
Guide for the New System Manager (32650-60042)
  Performing System Manager Tasks (32650-90004)
  Performing System Operation Tasks (32650-90137)
MPE/iX System Utilities Reference Manual (32650-90081)
  EDIT/3000 Reference Manual (03000-90012)
  Store and TurboSTORE/iX Manual (30319-90001)
System Startup, Configuration and Shutdown Reference Manual
     (32650-90042)
  Controlling System Activity (32650-90155)
  Manager's Guide to MPE/iX Security (32650-90474)
MPE/iX Commands Reference Manual, Volume 1 (32650-90003) and
  MPE/iX Commands Reference Manual, Volume 2 (32650-90364)
MPE/iX Error Messages Manual, Volume 1 (32650-90066) and
MPE/iX Error Messages Manual, Volume 2 (32650-90152) and
  MPE/iX Error Messages Manual, Volume 3 (32650-90368)

We also have some little self-paced tutorials, but they look pretty old.
They are:

Using the 900 Series HP3000: Fundamental Skills (31126A, Option 001)
Using the 900 Series HP3000: Advanced Skills (31126A, Option 002)

If you can help even with one manual, I'm sure he'll be grateful! I've
been telling him how knowledgeable and terrific the members of this list
are!! Many times you've helped me without even knowing it!
