There's a slight difference between what Wirt writes
and what has been reported in the local news.

Wirt writes:

All true so far. But her father apparently suggested that she
call the police. (Reportedly, her father is a San Jose police officer,
but I guess this doesn't mean that he could best handle the call himself.
A much stronger version of "enhancement requests from customers are best,"
I suppose. ;)

The girl did indeed stall the photographer, but I've seen nothing
to indicate that her father was among the officers to arrive. Also,
there are reports of a brief foot pursuit inside the store, but
Mr. DeGuzman was apprehended therein.

True indeed! Apparently Mr. DeGuzman had been planning this for fully
two years, and had planned to begin planting the explosives around
campus at 4:30 this morning.

The show of force at the campus entrance when I passed by after 11am
was not conveyed by the various news reports. Cops were *everywhere*,
and from many branches (San Jose police, local Sheriffs, CHP, and
apparently many others). The street across from campus was lined
with various news vans. Sleepy me didn't think to go back and get
a camera. :/ It was quite a sight!
