Thank you Donald Gudehus for a very succinct precis of the issues
surrounding the HP/Compaq merger. You have clarified my own thoughts
on the subject. I happen to agree with everything you say.

However, the one pertinent factor you left out was the size of the
"rewards" to be gained by the Board of Directors of HP (with the
exception of Walter Hewlett) if the merger goes through. The sheer
size of the "rewards" is sufficient to question the motivations of the
Board. I also have become disillusioned with the leadership of the
company and have no confidence that they are acting for the "good of
the company".

About the Interrex statement: Denys, your silence on this particular
thread is uncharacteristic. What are your thoughts on this issue?
