lovely, huh? some flavor of 'we' (3000-l?? sig sysman?? sig mpe??) asked to get tobyte fixed a l-o-n-g time ago....with no response (that i remember) from hp <sigh>

anyhow.....please check the following site:
<http://www.allegro.com/software/hp3000/allegro.html>

for the following software:

SSTOBYTE is an alternative to the MPE/iX /bin/tobyte program. (The usage is the same as /bin/tobyte.) It must be run from the shell, not the CI!.

Installation:

:copy sstobyte.pub.allegro, /usr/local/bin/sstobyte

(gee...what's the 'ss' for? :-)             - d

Come, my friends, 'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.

We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are.
