I'm looking for a program that will run on the HP 3000 that will take a
bitmap (monochrome at present) image created on the HP 3000 and will
convert the bitmap file to a file of .gif format.

Why? Well, we need to produce (nightly) a number of graphs of network
activity for display via our HP 3000's freeware intranet web server. The
data is generated on HP 3000's around the world and sent back to the HP
3000 that runs the HTTPD. A program on the HP 3000 then collects the
data and produces a bitmap file containing an image of a graph of the
data received (the bitmap file is not compressed and the format of the
bitmap is easily changed).

While we could have a person collect the various files, download them to
a PC, import the data into a spreadsheet, calculate the values, chart the
data, export to a .PCX or .BMP file, import to LViewPro, Export in .gif,
upload to the HP 3000; it would be much nicer to just have an HP 3000
program automatically do the whole mess during the night.

Any suggestions?

John
