Sorry to hear about your demise, but similarly relieved to hear *anything*
from you as I started receiving the 1-day-undeliverable notices for you,
Steve Cooper, and Gavin Scott this afternoon. As long as you aren't down
for more than two more days, we're holding 81 messages in the retry queue
for you :-) I did a traceroute and you get cutoff at the MCI router in
San Francisco, so it looked pretty bleak from here. Good to hear you're
still hanging on!

Speaking of which, you may have had some intermittent trouble reaching us
this past weekend - we tried activating our 2nd T1 line but the switching
unit at the local POP wasn't entirely healthy. Then we had a nameserver
quirk Monday morning. We appear to have survived that. Now, tomorrow
morning we try to activate the 2nd T1 again. If all goes well, we will
go from 448Kb to 768Kb initially (video is eating up most of it, and we
are also increasing bandwidth on a tail/loop circuit behind us).

Connectivity has been rather flaky lately to several sites, and will likely
get worse over the holidays. Let me take this time to re-state my policy
on bounces -- if you generate consistent bounces for a few days, I will
alter your list options to "digest mode" so that a daily summary is sent
out (one bounce versus ~50 I can deal with). If you "discover" yourself
in digest mode and don't want it, just send mail to [log in to unmask]
with text "set hp3000-l nodigest" to resume business as usual.

Happy holidays a bit early (http://opus.admin.utc.edu/downsize.htm) :-)
