I've never had much of a problem with restores.  If they don't work you
tend to know it from stdlist messages.  I'd be more concerned with
verifying that the original store worked - that's where I've seen many
problems of the years.  We routinely verify all store tapes.
Ex: :VSTORE *T;@[log in to unmask]@;DIRECTORY;PROGRESS
The tape life is cut in half but it's worth it.
