I've installed some Seagate ST39204LW disk drives. Is there any way I can find out if the 4 Mbytes disk caching is turned on? Is there a command that can turn the cache on/off like you turn the compression on tape, eject noeject and online command?

If there is such a utility, where can I find it and can the cache be turned on and off at any time or do you have to do it when the system has freshly booted with no one accessing the data files.

Thank you
