Are these host-based apps, client-server apps using ODBC or a combination of
both?

Basically, nothing should have changed (we run 5.5 PP5 here on one machine).
Your DBLOCK calls should operate in the same fashion, and for ODBC apps,
ensure that you are using RU as your isolation level. Image/SQL recognizes
two isolation levels basically (although Allbase provides for four) - these
are RU (Read Uncommitted) and RR (Repeatable Read). "RR" will yield the
symptoms shown above, so check any possible ODBC apps (or third-party apps
which use ODBC such as Crystal Reports, Impromptu, etc) for the proper
isolation level. This can be checked by examining the setup in the ODBC
Administrator in the Control Panel.

Feel free to e-mail me privately with more details should this not do the
trick.

Best Regards,
Joe
