Hundreds of dumbs? Ouch. We are down to maybe 5-6 now, out of 100+. We now
have some 15 Wyse winterm 3125se thins in the field. They run an emulator
that handles both normal (page mode , as in Vplus) and our mode (line) block
mode fine. It seems to be Telnet, as its quite fast (reports say faster than
reflections on a normal pc). A couple of the units have failed over the last
5 years (intermittent faults), but that's probably a lower failure rate than
the average pc. IIRC they are around A$600 here in Oz.

Subject: [HP3000-L] 3000 box & thin clients

hi, I have a customer that's on a 3000 box (969) and is using hundreds of
700 (92, 94, 96, & 98) series terminals. The cost, repair, keyboards issues,
and general maintenance of these terminals / keyboards it getting to be too
much for them and us. They would like to explore some options to do away
with terminals.

Does anyone have any information or different options for thin clients
tesrminal servers / diskless PCs for use on the 3k boxes?

Thanks
Jesse
