It looks like one of our printers, like some of our students, did not return from spring break ready to resume normal production. One of our LP 500 printers showed a display
ERROR: DC PROGRAM NOT VALID.
I looked it up in the manual. It is related to flash memory. The 'required action' is to "download the DC program again. If the message occurs again, replace the flash memory".
Well, I don't have the data controller program to download 'again'.
Do I need to call the HP tech? The regular repairman I use for printer service would not touch this problem.
