Even if this is true, at least one would expect that the message would at
least on the surface appear to be consistent within HP. Moreover, in cases
where there was an inconsistency, they would offer some sort of explaination
(even marketing speak) of why there appears to be an inconsistency. What is
most interesting to me is that there are two different statements that seem
to contradict each other and that no one addresses the issue point of
inconsistency. No one acknowledges that both statements are out in the
either, they appear to be inconsistent, however here's what the official HP
position is.

As John Burke so correctly pointed out, if Capellas simply repeated what
Hudson said, it might feel like an acknowledgement that the HP-UX statement
is correct (although one would still wonder why the apparent inconsistency
happened in the first place). However, if you have the two disconnected
versions out there, it is reasonable to assume that Capellas, the one with
the highest rank, really knows the strategy. In light of now other facts or
statements to the contrary, it is not unreasonable for a thinking person to
assume that HP-UX is toast.
