Question here amongst us ignorant people.
Is Linux pronounced loooonex as in rhythm's with Unix
or is it lie nex
or ??
Second question;
I too have seen nothing that says what to do with COBOL/IMAGE/VIEW, just an
ambiguous statement that says we'll help you migrate to platform flavor of the
month.
Is that something to be named later, or are we just expected to rewrite
everything?
I'd like to see MPE/IMAGE continue - but one thing I'd have to say, don't wait
too long to
have a plan, as people will start jumping ship without waiting until the bitter
end. Yes, I know
some will continue long past the end of support date, but others are already
making up their
purchase orders for new machines.
And I know the two clients that I am sole support for are going to be nervous,
wondering what they
should do, and are going to look out for their own company's future, and won't
want to wait too long for
a "maybe this can be saved idea". And no I'm not knocking this idea, just
that it can't wait too long.
