HP3000-l readers,

Here's the problem.....

I am printing to a dot-matrix (Lexmark 2381+) printer with the Lexmark
serial option. When connected directly to the HP, everthing works fine.

However, when I set up the same setup over the modem (with the modem and
HP configured for a modem setup), After the first spool file is printed,
the 3000 or printer hangs up the phone line. I'm suspecting the HP for
this one. I know that I could change the modem settings (and HP's) to
think it is connected directly, (ignore DSR, etc.), but I would prefer to
keep things set up for a modem.

Any ideas on how to keep the hang up from happening?

/alan
