I have been reading the discussions with some interest. I have noticed
that no one seems to be changing their opinion. Hence no one is
winning this war.
I have tried to understand both sides, but I am sure to several of you
it is apparent which side I have taken.
But what is the underlying difference? Denys and they Mark have made
an attempt at a definition. From what I see, the left (liberals or
anti-war) individuals seem to believe in the underlying good of
humanity. The left acts as if it is possible to perfect man and morals
by simply denying evil exists.
The right or conservative seem to have acknowledged that man is flawed
and some of them are inherently evil, unless they are stopped, they
will hurt (or continue to harm) innocent lives. Hence it is their
moral obligation to prevent these evils.
Saddam has shown us his true colors. He is no dummy. It would be
shear suicide for him to attempt to use any WMD. I wonder, do you
think he could find any volunteers, some person or group that would not
reveal their connections?
Maybe, just maybe our President shares all of our concerns. I sincerly
doubt for one minute that he would risk thousands of lives and billions
of dollars, so he and his buddies (businesses, contractors, etc...)
could put a few extra dollars in thier pockets.
I am confident the President has much more information than Mr. Powell
has expressed.
Why is it so easy to proclaim the innocence of Saddam and the moral
bankruptcy of President Bush? Saddam has already proven he is a
ruthless dictator.
Pray for our leaders.
Regards,
-Craig
