Sounds to me the system is not talking to the disk drives. One
possibility is that the SCSI card is toast, wet toast.

Subject: [HP3000-L] IPL error: bad LIF magic
Importance: High

It was a dark and stormy night.

So, after dripping water on our 959 for 8 hours, our machine faulted at
7:30AM just before I got in to work.

After an hour of letting it dry it comes up to the boot prompt, but
after I enter "Y" to interact with the IPL, it tells me:

-----------------------------------------

IPL erro: bad LIF magic.
 .... FAILED

Terminating selection process.
No boot device found.

-----------------------------------------

So this tells me I need to call in an HP CE for repair.

Is this so or are there other solutions? UPDATE from CLST?

Our boot device is a Model 20 array and it shows no error on LDEV 1
Mirrored Pair
although the hot spare kicked in in LDEV 2.

Thoughts?
