Network Services were _NOT_ bundled with 5.0. Network Transport was
(nowadays called ARPA transport).

- ThinLanLink/3000 is not NS Services. ThinLanLink/3000 is LANIC
hardware, downloads, drivers and TCP/IP transport software with
NetIPC and BSD sockets interfaces to it. This product also includes
NS services core and incoming VT. This is exactly what was bundled
in 5.0 - you no longer need to purchase ThinLanLink/3000 product, it
comes free with the FOS.
- NS Services on 4.0 = NS services on 5.0.
There has been no change what is contained in NS services software
in 5.0 vs. 4.0. What has changed has already been pointed out earlier on
on this thread - i.e. now the ARPA transport (formerly known as NS trans-
port) is part of the FOS. That includes the NS services core functionality
and incoming VT - however, it is not full NS. In order to have full
NS services functionality (outgoing VT, DSCOPY, RFA/RDBA etc.) one still
needs to have the NS services product (36920B).
Hope this addresses your concerns,
:-) Eero Laurila - HP CSY Networking lab, NS Services.
