I am trying to get sendmail working on my 927XL running MPE/ix 6.0. Our LAN
is linked to a LinkSys DSL/Router. It has an IP address. Our WAN(DSL
Modem) has an IP address and a gateway IP address (to Verizon) . Our
clients are auto assigned IP's starting at 192.168.1.100 and up. I opened
ports 25 & 53 for IP 192.168.1.10 (the HP).

My hosts.net.sys file has the following to active lines:

192.168.1.10 HP3000.CFSINC.COM
127.0.0.1 localhost

With all the lines in RESLVCNF.NET.SYS non active Syslog works. dnscheck
doesn't. I am missing "A" records.

When I add/activate the following RESLVCNF lines Syslog doesn't work and
dnscheck still can't find and "A" records.

domain cfsinc.com
nameserver 192.168.1.10
domain localhost
nameserver 127.0.0.1

I think it is something to do with a configuration in NMMGR. For the life
of me I can't find anything concrete in the archives. I am waiting to get
access to invent3k so I can look at its config.

I just can't wait. Well unless I have to. Any clues? See dnscheck output
below.

No DNS "A" records were found for hp3000.cfsinc.com

serious problem; double-check /SYS/NET/RESLVCNF and ask your DNS
