3k can provide a POP2 and POP3 server for the 3000, and in conjunction with
our DeskLink SMTP gateway for OpenDesk you can use POP clients on any platform
and still exchange mail with Desk users. The POP servers don't share the Desk
mailboxes (i.e. you can't read mail in an HPDesk mailbox using our pop server)
but you can send messages back and forth easily.
I believe(?) Microsoft's clients will talk to a POP server; in any case,
popular clients like Eudora from Qualcomm (windows or Mac) or NetScape
Navigator's built-in mail client work nicely.
You can even download a trial copy of NetMail, DeskLink, and the POP server
off our ftp or www sites and try it out yourself.
